We believe that revitalizing public basketball courts helps empower the people who play on them. My HomeCourt restores neglected courts and turns them into colorful, living works of art in an effort to strengthen communities and inspires basketball players from of all ages and skill levels. My HomeCourt provides a bright future for rundown courts in need of repair.
Our first My HomeCourt will be unveiled at at Fargnoli Park in Providence on October 14, 2018 at 12 p.m.
WE Work with Providence Parks and Recreation to identify public basketball courts that have become rundown and in need of repair.
Repair the court foundation and apply a new top-coat. Remove cracks and slopes.
Install bold, large-scale, original works of art on the surfaces and re-paint the basketball lines.
My HomeCourts help foster community engagement and encourage people to come out to the parks.
Restored basketball courts are safer and more fun to play on.
Colorful artwork creates excitement and energy for everyone in the community to enjoy.
We seek out established, contemporary artists, many of whom have ties to the city of Providence. Each court design is a one-of-a-kind piece of art that reflects the values, culture, and history of the neighborhood.
We are a dynamic collaboration of organizations who love the city of Providence, the game of basketball, and the power of public art, including:
